Your beliefs will make or break you.

Do you want to reach your full potential? Then you must believe in your God-given abilities, giftedness, and the potential that is already in you.

Many people will direct your life and eventually, the outcome if you don’t believe in your uniqueness, your assignment, and the resources at already your disposal.

All of us already have what is going to take to make us fulfill our assignment, but we have to believe in our God-given ability for us to reach our full potential.

Once in a while, you will run against those who will tell you that they know more about your life than you. These are individuals who don’t believe in your assignment and the resources that you have been given to accomplish this assignment. They use words like:

You are showing off.

You are making false moves.

You don’t have what it takes.

You are out of sync with everybody else.

You are not smart enough.

You are not strong enough.

You don’t have the right connections.

Your background is not strong enough

You belong in the wrong socio-economic class

You are not smart enough

You are too young or too old.

When David inquired about facing Goliath, his brothers had some harsh words for him. Here what transpired:

"They repeated to him what they had been saying and told him, “This is what will be done for the man who kills him.”
When Eliab, David’s oldest brother, heard him speaking with the men, he burned with anger at him and asked, “Why have you come down here? And with whom did you leave those few sheep in the wilderness? I know how conceited you are and how wicked your heart is; you came down only to watch the battle.”
“Now what have I done?” said David. “Can’t I even speak?”  He then turned away to someone else and brought up the same matter, and the men answered him as before. What David said was overheard and reported to Saul, and Saul sent for him.  David said to Saul, “Let no one lose heart on account of this Philistine; your servant will go and fight him.”
Saul replied, “You are not able to go out against this Philistine and fight him; you are only a young man, and he has been a warrior from his youth.” 1 Samuel 17:27-33

Everybody had their doubts and reservations about Davids’ ability to defeat the giant, but this did not prevent him from moving forward. When David confronted Goliath, he too had some harsh words for David;

Meanwhile, the Philistine, with his shield bearer in front of him, kept coming closer to David. He looked David over and saw that he was little more than a boy, glowing with health and handsome, and he despised him.  He said to David, “Am I a dog, that you come at me with sticks?” And the Philistine cursed David by his gods. “Come here,” he said, “and I’ll give your flesh to the birds and the wild animals!” 1 Samuel 17:42-44

Goliath discredited and counted David out, yet David killed him. His victory was rooted in his belief in God’s ability in him.

Whose report are you believing? The report of your environment or those who underestimate who you are? If you don’t believe in your God-given ability, nobody will believe you. To reach your full potential, you don’t need other people to believe on your behave. You are the one to belie that you have what it takes to win because you do.
