Slowly Digging Your Grave with your Teeth

Are you slowly digging your grave with your teeth? Your Professional life, marriage, and all other aspects of your life are directly dependent on when, where, why, and what you eat. Therefore choose what you eat carefully and eat wisely.

Food is meant to satisfy your hunger and nourish your body so that you will be able to go about your day and business successfully. The issue is that we are using food for other purposes the food was not meant for. It is not a good idea to depend on food for comfort, fulfillment, and distraction. When you do this, you focus on the momentary pleasure that food brings, forgetting that your body has to deal with the excess calories that you are taking in. That is why King Solomon one of the wisest kings ever lived warned us, "Have you found honey? Eat only what you need, That you not have it in excess and vomit it." Eating too much has undesirable consequences and happiness is the person who takes note of this.

Each meal is an opportunity to nourish your body or destroy it. Each bite is either life or death. Most people say that one time will not kill you. One time is one time too many. Will you knowingly drink poison one time? May this warning by King Solomon shade some light on the need to show restraint, "When you sit to dine with a ruler, note well what is before you, and put a knife to your throat if you are given to gluttony. Do not crave his delicacies, for that food is deceptive."

Most of us will say NO to eating poison once in a while. Unfortunately, some of your favorite treats are slowly killing you. If you say you know, but cannot change you are living in self-deception.

Suppression does not work, that is why you are still struggling to break those bad eating habits.

Replacement works. Instead of eating that sugary snack, replace it with some healthy nuts or fresh fruits.

Stop giving excuses, your body is not a trash can. Treat it with respect by what you put into it. Paul of Tarsus said, "You know that you are God’s sanctuary and that God’s Spirit lives in you, don’t you? If anyone destroys God’s sanctuary, God will destroy him, for God’s sanctuary is holy. And you are that sanctuary!"

Share this with others so they too can be inspired to replace death with life. Dr. Eric Tangumonkem was born and raised in a Caldera on the Cameroon Volcanic Line in Cameroon.
