Drastic situations call for extreme measures

Do you want to reach your full potential? Then you must make some cuts.

Just because you have great potential in you is not a guarantee that you will reach your full potential. There is a critical part you have to play for you to reach your full potential. This is why it is crucial that you discover this potential, develop it, and deploy it.

If it was easy to discover, develop, and deploy the potential in us, all of us would be wealthy, healthy, and highly successful.

I don’t need to tell you that this is not happening. Part of the reason is that many people lack the courage to do what they must do to keep going. They hold on to past hurts, failures, mistakes, and disappointments. Some refuse to take responsibility for their actions and resort to complaining and blaming others.

These are those people who keep saying, “They did this to me.” Instead of focusing on what they are doing to themselves, they blame other people. It seems these people have forgotten that what you do to yourself has more devastating consequences than what other people do to you. For example, if you keep telling yourself that you are worthless, have no purses, and cannot amount to much, then that will be the outcome you will get.

There are two things you can do to get rid of the junk you are carrying. You can drop it as Jesus suggested here:

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

The other thing is for you to be more drastic by cutting out anything that is a stumbling block. Here is the radical recommendation Jesus made:

If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.  And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell. Matthew 5:29-30

Drastic situations call for extreme measures. When you can appreciate what is at stake, you will do whatever it takes to preserve it. Is your health important? Is the dream your pursuing important? Then do what you have to do. Let your words align with your actions. It is impossible to act contrary to where you want to be and get there. Do you want good health? Then you must cut out the junk. Today is the best time to do that.

The IEM APPROACH is a holistic way of life; the physical and spiritual must be in synergy for real, lasting, and sustainable success.
